Our Mission Statement:
The Emmet County Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated
to promoting and encouraging interest in the research of family and local history, collecting and preserving historical and genealogical records for posterity, and promoting the exchange of knowledge of research sources and methods.

Purpose of Our Organization:
1. To operate exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 of The Internal Revenue Code, and more, specifically:
a. To promote and encourage interest in the research of family and local history.
b. To collect and preserve historical and genealogical records for posterity.
c. To assist individual family research.
d. To promote the exchange of knowledge of research sources and methods.
e. To provide a common meeting ground,
in Emmet County, for persons
interested in genealogy.
f. To carry on activities permitted by exempt organizations under Section 501
of the Internal Revenue Code, as amended.

MEETINGS:
The society meets at 6:30 p.m.
on the first Tuesday of every month
at the American Legion Hall, Weaver Lindemuth Post 194,
455 Bay Street, Petoskey, Michigan.
Please use side door entrance.
Meetings are always open to the public. Announcements of special events and speakers will be listed in the local newspapers.
